The Programme has been developed to provide students with outstanding postgraduate experience in the field of English Language and Literature. MA English Language and Literature offers a varied and distinctive range of areas of study, including contemporary literary studies, critical and cultural theory, gender, memory, trauma, and postcolonial studies. It provides students with a range of transferable skills to meet the requirements of the professional workplace and prepares them for further study at PhD level. The MA in English Language and Literature focuses on narratives in relation to their literary and cultural contexts. Students will study a number of different works by a variety of authors, written in a range of historical periods. The degree combines literary theory, reading comprehension and critique, language and philology. It allows students to develop advanced written skills, analytical abilities and an understanding of how to compose a successful narrative. These skills prepare graduates for employment in a range of fields and create a strong foundation for further academic pursuits. -

Our online M.A. in Literature and Culture enables you to explore innovative and diverse texts and their many different contexts – historical, social and political. Your engagement will focus on themes at the forefront of contemporary culture, including identity politics, Otherness, and the environment. These courses are designed for students who cannot attend the onsite program at Instituto Franklin-UAH, but still want to take courses with our faculty. Students can obtain 3 credits per course, (4.5 ECTS). Courses are offered through Blackboard virtual classroom where students will follow the designed schedule, as well as the activities, interaction with faculty, assignments, virtual forum, and virtual presentations. In Blackboard classroom students will have at least 45 hours of work throughout the academic period and 7-8 hours of individual work each week. -

Our MA in Gaelic Literature (Online), offered by the Department of Modern Irish at UCC, provides students with an in-depth introduction to a distinctive body of literature, giving expression to the many identities of the Gaelic world, and extending over 1200 years, from monastic to modern times. -
